We’re often asked what kind of spray paint we like to use, and the answer is simple: MTN 94 from Montana Colors.

We have dozens of different paint cans from MTN’s wide range of color. The MTN 94 line is a matte aerosol spray with 217 different color offerings. These can be found at many independent art stores and at Blick Art Materials. We use this type of spray paint every day on our canvas paintings, walls, floors and almost any other surface you can think of.

If you aren’t satisfied with the MTN 94 color range, Montana Colors also offers several lines of spray paint with different finishes and colors. For example, their Hardcore line features a selection of gloss spray paints.

If you’re DIY-ing on metal, plastic or outdoor furniture, we recommend Krylon’s selection of different colors and finishes. These can be found at any hardware store, Amazon, Michaels, independent art stores and more. These paints are made to withstand harsher conditions, as opposed to an art paint like MTN 94.

All aerosol spray paints should be used outside or in a very well ventilated area.
